IBAC provides excellent value to its members.  Every effort is made to run a prudent and cost effective organization.  Events, programs and mailings apprise members and other participants in our events of developments impacting international financial institutions operating in California and domestic financial institutions participating in international finance.
IBAC is known as the most important association for international banking on the West Coast.  We have alliances with other financial services associations from around the United Sates that focus on international finance and trade.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

IBAC is a professional organization located in California representing the global community of international financial service providers. Members of IBAC benefit through the organization’s main objectives:
  1. Provide high-quality educational and training programs to keep members on top of current issues impacting the financial services industry in California. Education is the “heart” of IBAC and is the primary task and obligation to its members.

  2. Foster and develop a forum for the free exchange of ideas and airing of concerns common to its members. This may be done formally in conjunction with regularly scheduled seminars and workshops; alternatively, it may be done on an informal basis during social networking or a pre-luncheon discussion.

  3. Provide a forum to discuss business opportunities among members. This may be done with a formal presentation on a specific topic with industry leaders or in conjunction with other scheduled programs.

  4. Analyze and educate members regarding relevant action of regulatory authorities with jurisdiction over the financial services industry.  Similarly, educate members regarding relevant legislative and executive actions of state and federal government.

  5. Create educational programs with other professional organizations around the United States and overseas.

  6. Form alliances with all segments of the financial services industry, including commercial banks, domestic and internationally headquartered.

ABOUT US

IBAC was organized in 1972 in San Francisco by a group of six bankers.  The International Bankers Association of California reflects the global nature of financial activity in California and the United States.  Economic change has been driven by globalization and technology.  The organization’s audience includes internationally headquartered banks, domestic banks, securities firms, technology firms, and professionals (lawyers, accountants, consultants and real estate companies), who have regular contact with internationally oriented financial services and technology firms.  We focus our educational programs on strategic, economic, regulatory, risk management, FinTech, compliance, privacy, and technology issues, among others.

IBAC is led by a Board of Directors representing firms across the United States and overseas with an interest in California.
